“Do I have to exercise?”
“Only exercise if you want to feel
better faster and prevent pain,“ your Baton Rouge
chiropractic replies.
“How long do I
have to exercise each day?”
“Not long, just properly,” Spine & Sports Rehab Center
suggests.
Exercise is not every Baton Rouge back pain or neck
pain patient’s ‘cup of tea’. Spine & Sports Rehab Center knows.
Exercise is also so key to our back and neck pain
patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our Baton Rouge
chiropractic patients every step of the way to make
the most of the exercise effort so that it pays off in pain relief and prevention.
OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Neck pain sufferers understand how pain
may decrease their neck motion. Such neck pain patients were assessed as to
their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test.
They were then directed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine
exercise session. Half of them were then also
treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine
levels. Those who did the exercise program and received
manual therapy did significantly
better in terms of range of motion, pain intensity reduction,
and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another research project revealed
that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic
myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as contrasted with 15
or 60 seconds or no stretching. This permitted the most
benefit to pain intensity decrease while minimizing
any negative effects on neural function of the affected
nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Spine & Sports Rehab Center always stresses
that the appropriate exercise performed in the right
way doesn’t have to take long to be useful!
Plus, exercise lays some control in the
hands of its sufferer since exercise can be done anytime.
OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Incorporating exercise training into the
multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain does make
sense. Such back pain affects so many
people around the world and is a leading
cause of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back
pain patient to self-management. Recently, researchers proposed
that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health issues
in such back pain patients - were enhanced with choices
like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga,
and stabilization exercise. (3) Spine & Sports Rehab Center agrees! Exercise is invaluable
in so many ways.
