Success Stories

"About six months ago, my son Grayson suffered from a horrible hamstring tear running the 100 meter at LSU. We were all devastated! But, thanks to Dr. Hymel and a lot of prayers, he is back running without pain.

During the last 8 weeks that Dr. Hymel has been treating Grayson, he not only helped his hamstring heal, but also reprogrammed Grayson mentally; giving him his courage back.

Dr. Hymel has also taught us how to take care of Grayson's body better; giving us plenty of new stretches and exercises to balance his muscle groups.

We are so thankful that God placed Dr. Jon in our lives and know in our hearts that he and Grayson will achieve high levels of success together!"

Sincerely,

"The St. Francisville center is thumbs up! I needed chiro care after an auto accident which lead to a tweaked back, making it painful and almost impossible to walk. Dr. Shay Corbin knew exactly what to do and how to make the movement possible again. The philosophy is truly about a wellness lifestyle as Dr. Shay Corbin gives tips and techniques to do at home which expedites the healing. The office support staff is spectacular! If the bridge were not open.. Chiropractic Spine & Sports Rehab Center would be well worth the ferry wait!

"Dr. Corbin and Dr. Hymel are amazing! I was in a car wreck when I was 14 years old. I suffered with lower back pain for a year and a half before a doctor decided the pain might be from my SI joint and referred me to Dr. Corbin. I had been to several doctors and through many sessions of physical therapy with no relief. The pain was to the point that I could not sit, stand, or even lay down for long periods of time without pain. I was also not able to cheer or play softball which I had done for many years.
After a month of sessions, my back no longer hurt daily. Once I felt relief, the extensive rehab of my core muscles has allowed me to participate in cheer and softball again. Dr. Hymel tailored my workouts to help me regain the strength needed to compete in softball. You could tell it worked since my batting average increased during the season as my treatment progressed.
Mrs. Heather and the staff are always so friendly, and adjust my appointments to fit my busy schedule.
I now feel like I'm batting 1000!"

"I feel so lucky to have received such amazing services at Chiropractic Spine & Sports Rehab Center. The doctors at Chiropractic Spine & Sports Rehab Center are by far the most knowledgeable chiropractors in the business, and Dr. Corbin's staff is professional and really knows how to make you feel like a part of a 'family'. I felt all members were genuinely concerned for my well-being.
I am a mother of two (i.e., 9 year old and a 5 year old) and a recreational tennis player. I injured my back about five years ago picking up a television during our move to Zachary, Louisiana. Prior to this injury, I was in picture perfect health and certainly not a believer in chiropractic services. I spent a long time trying to manage this pain by myself. I tried to control the pain with aspirin and finally went to an orthopedic physician and received anti-inflammatory medications. I went to a physical therapist for guidance as well as received chiropractic services from another chiropractor in the surrounding area. I still had trouble with performing activities of daily living and I was angry that this injury was taking my quality of life from me. So with the beginning of the New Year approaching (2011), I decided to make a New Year's Resolution which was to seek services that were going to work and make me feel better. Nothing can ever compare to the top-notch equipment and services I received at Chiropractic Spine & Sports Rehab Center. Dr. Corbin listened to my back pain problems and tailored a program specifically for my body's issues and helped me develop goals and objectives for playing tennis and being able to chase my children around without making excuses as to why I cannot play with them. Even after one manipulation from Dr. Corbin, I was completely amazed at his skill and expertise. I was able to walk out to the care and ride without any lower back pain, not to mention my tennis game is so much better. Now I might lose... but it is due to 'lack of skill' not because of pain. It truly makes me smile when I think about the amazing results I have had."

"I injured my neck in a work-related accident. I went to physical therapy for several months and experienced little relief. I took muscle relaxers, pain killers, and even medication to lessen the sensation of nerve pain. After 1 year, I still had significant pain. This was affecting all areas of my life. I couldn't sit in a movie theater or go on a long car trip. Worst of all, I could no longer attend LSU football games. Even sitting through a church service or in my car to drive to work was extremely painful. I went to a pain specialist who performed RF Ablation procedures on the nerves in my neck. Essentially, this burns off the nerve endings so I experienced less pain. Although the nerve pain was gone, the muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders never decreased. Over time, I started to experience a loss of mobility and the nerve pain returned. The pain specialist suggested a procedure called MUA. [Manipulation Under Anesthesia] I was given anesthesia 3 consecutive mornings and Dr. Corbin performed the manipulation. On the way home from the 1st procedure, I had increased mobility. I never experienced pain with any of these procedures. I have always been a skeptic of chiropractic procedures, but I completely believe and recommend these methods to anyone. The manipulations have been followed up with exercise specifically targeted to the muscles I need to develop and retrain. Dr. Corbin has tailored a program specific to my body's needs as well as the specific tasks I perform at work and in my daily life. This has made such a difference in my quality of life. Thanks to Dr. Corbin and his wonderful staff and great facility."

"Being a competitive power-lifter, I constantly have to deal with muscular and spinal injuries. These injuries would normally require me to take time off of training, which is not possible competing at the level that I compete.

That's when I met Dr. Shay Corbin and Dr. Jon Hymel. Dr. Shay has been working with me for the past 8 years, and I was excited when Dr. Jon joined his practice last year. They have been keeping me injury free, or when I do have an injury, they quickly get me back in the gym so I do not have to take precious time off.

The doctors at Chiropractic Spine & Sports Rehab Center are by far the most knowledgeable chiropractors in the business. Whether they are working with an elite athlete or the weekend warrior, Dr. Corbin and Dr. Hymel will get you back into action. I would not have reached the levels that I am at today without their knowledge and expertise."
